Do I need a referal?

No you don’t. You can refer yourself at any point in time for our services. We pride ourselves on working from not only a treatment but also an early intervention framework, and many clients who do not necessarily have a mental health diagnosis seek assistance from our Psychologists for numerous life issues including: relationship difficulties, family issues, workplace problems, work life balance difficulties, professional career planning etc. However if you have been referred by a medical doctor (GP/Paediatrician/Psychiatrist) because you are experiencing mental health difficulties – you may be eligible for a substantial Medicare rebate for up to 10 counselling sessions per year for psychology services and 5 session per year for Speech and Occupational Therapy. We also accept private health insurance rebates and you may be able to claim these on the spot through our HICAPS terminal.

What do psychologists do?

A number of different things including assessing and treating mental health issues through psychological interventions that very often include counselling. Some Psychologists work purely in research and don’t provide counselling for example, while others may work in settings such as hospitals, schools, community health contexts, corporate environments, or private practice. The work that Psychologists do in helping people lead happier and more meaningful and productive lives – is always underpinned by psychological research.

Are you registered for the NDIS?

Yes, we are registered for the NDIS so you can claim your services through us. Also, we have been providing services to people with disabilities for more than 20 years so have a strong understanding and empathy for people who are accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

What is the Medicare rebate

The Medicare Rebate is obtainable to clients who are referred by their general practitioner (GP). The Medicare rebate makes accessing a Psychologist, Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist more affordable by offering a considerable rebate to clients for between 5 (Speech and Occupational Therapy) and 10 (Psychology) sessions per calendar year.

It is important to know that these are per calendar year. This means that if your GP refers you in July and you use all your sessions by November you are entitled to another 5 - 10 the following January. You DO NOT have to wait 12 months from the date of the referral (i.e. you do not have to wait until the following July to be referred by your GP)*.

How do I access the Medicare rebate?

You will need to arrange an appointment with your GP to discuss the Mental Health Care Plan (Psychology) or Enhanced Care Plan (Speech and Occupational Therapy). Once you have your care plan simply call us on 1300 372 121 and make an appointment to see a specialist in one of our locations.

Are there Private Health cover rebates?

Yes. If you have extras cover you will be able to claim a rebate from your health fund provider. As the rebate varies depending on your level of cover please call your Health Provider for more information.

Do you write reports?

Yes our team at Enhance Health Services can write reports for court matters, custody matters, Victims of crime, WorkCover matters, schools, doctors, and Centrelink. Please note that we do request pre-payment before a report is released.
