Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA)
One day duration at your location.
The MAPA program delivers comprehensive training for staff that teaches management and intervention strategies, to professionally and safely handle escalating and aggressive behaviour. MAPA training is delivered by Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) accredited trainers and all training is logged on the CPI website.
By better understanding behaviour, what triggers it, and our part in it, we can get better outcomes in our workplaces and for our customers.
Key Learning objectives:
- Identify behaviour that is escalating towards aggression and take appropriate measure to avoid, defuse or de-escalate the crisis situation.
- Assess the level of risk objectively and manage the risks accordingly.
- Use suitable and acceptable physical disengagement skills to manage crisis situations.
- Learn to debrief post-crisis and identify aspects of change that could lead to better outcomes in the future.
We are Sydney based and can quote for training throughout NSW.
